THIS WEEK ON THE 80'S CHARTS

This week in 1980, Rupert Holmes debuted on the HOT 100 with the awesome Him. It would peak at #6. Kudos for having Kathy Griffin sing back-up.



This week in 1981, Queen debuted on the HOT 100 with Flash's Theme. It would eventually peak at #42.



This week in 1982, Olivia spent her tenth and last week at #1 with Physical.



This week in 1983, Thompson Twins hit the HOT 100 for the first time with Lies, whcih debuted at #80 and peaked at #30.



This week in 1984, Kim Carnes debuted on the HOT 100 with You Make My Heart Beat Faster . It debuted at #84 and peaked at #54, and was one of Kim's many pop singles to flop ... UNFAIRLY! BTW, her boyfriend in the video is a young Ian McShane!



This week in 1985, Kim Wilde debuted on the HOT 100 with the fabulous (The Second Time) Go For It, which debuted at #82 and peaked at #64.



This week in 1986, Robert Tepper debuted on the HOT 100 with his LOST 80'S classic No Easy Way Out. It debuted at #80 and peaked at #22.



This week in 1987, Expose hit the HOT 100 for the first time with Come Go With Me, which debuted at #73 and peaked at #5.



This week in 1988, Belinda Carlisle debuted on the HOT 100 with I Get Weak, It debuted at #54 and peaked at #2.



This week in 1989, Vixen debuted on the HOT 100 with Cryin. It debuted at #86 and peaked at #22.
